    I have one layer with 20 masks. each mask has its expansion, feather and opacity keyframed. expansion is keyed from 0 – 2. very very subtle. so everytime i pre render, i get this error when it gets about 3/4 of the way through.

    After Effects error: non-specific error doing mask expansion (1).
    ( 38 :: 28 )

    Im using AE7 on a PC.

    thanks in advance,
    ryan

    “Non-specific”. Gotta love those.

    Though the COW may be grand, I haven’t seen a lot of posts here regarding AE errors, except for a few errors that crop up a lot. You might want to try the forums on the Adobe site, where more Adobe techs seem to lurk.

    My other suggestion might be to render to TGAs, then start the render again from the point where it stopped. Then re-import the TGAs.

    Anybody else?

    yeah i tried to output to an image sequence. after effects doesnt like that either. i just gave up and dropped the expansion keyframes…. deadline is too tight to mess around. thanks anyways, and if it comes up again, i will head to the adobe rooms.
