I feel like this may be a very stupid question, but I haven’t been able to find it in the tutorials I’ve been following.

I am using an animated mask to color correct the sunlight coming in through a door that is opened and shut during a scene. I’m using a mask wich has a keyframe for each frame the door is open and it looks great. Problem is, I don’t need the mask after the door is shut. How do I limit a mask to a certain number of frames in a clip? Thanks.

    Hi Phillip,

The easiest method is to just split your layer at the point where you no longer need the mask. Under EDIT>SPLIT LAYER. The shortcut is CMND+SHIFT+D if your on a mac.

Then just delete the mask from the 2nd layer.

I always just keyframe the mask position and then drag it off the screen to make sure I don’t get a bunch of unorganized layers
