In Adobe Premiere, I’ve had to lower the volume in some places because it becomes to loud. The problem is that you can hear the sound drop in the clip when this happens. Is there any way I could mask this? My idea right now is to take some ambient sound from another part of the clip when no one is speaking and place that under the lowered volume part. Any tips?

That’s why you should record a long track of room tone at every shoot / location when everyone is gone.

Yes, you certainly can use other sections of silence to cover it up.

    Have you tried audio gain?

I use Audio Filter “Dynamics” across the entire track from the Audio Mixer and find I get great results. My soft sections aren’t affected because I set the dB range that I want lifted so the whole range isn’t just all louder.
