Mask controls: how to lock alignment
Posted by David Hudson on August 6, 2014 at 8:23 pmIs it possible to lock the control pucks for the mask effect?
2 things:
I want to be sure the mask line is straight across screen.
and also to adjust the line by moving 2 points together.David Hudson replied 10 years, 6 months ago 5 Members · 5 Replies -

August 6, 2014 at 9:46 pmNot near X right now, but in most “move” functions – the default is that holding the shift key while dragging constrains movement to the horizontal or vertical axis.
Did you try that?

Nope. Not for published OSCs.
[Patrice Freymond] “Go by numbers in the inspector ?”
Also a no-go, since the individual points do not have a parameter value. These were not published (for some odd reason). But one could simply go into the Mask filter with Motion and publish the individual position parameters of the four “Crosshair” layers oneself, after which they’d be available in FCPX.

November 4, 2015 at 11:37 pmVery simple: I need to make straight lines with a mask tool. It seems crazy to me that every apple application uses the same keys (hold the shift key) to lock alignment of things yet FCPX not so!!
