  • marrying audio and video with matching timecode

    Hi,

I was just wondering if there is an easy way to sync up a batch of audio and video recorded to sepperate devices on set but with slaved time code in FCP. I can do it manually of course, but I was wondering if there was a “button” somewhere to marry audio and video with accurately matching timecode.

    Thanks much.

    Dave

    hi Dave –

In the Browser, just Cmd+Click the audio and Video clips you want to “marry” which selects them, and then CTRL+Click one of those clips and choose “Merge Clips” from the contextual menu. This will bring up a dialog for options on how to synchronize the clips, 3rd option down being Timecode.

    Cheers,
    Stace

    Thanks much.

I also found this under audio in the user manual (duh). I guess it always helps to read the directions. 🙂

    Thanks again.
