  Marquee Tool – Marching Ants Not Showing While Dragging

  While dragging with the marquee tool, the marching ants selection lines aren’t showing anymore but do display after I’ve finished making a selection. They used to display while drawing but all of a sudden stopped.

  I’ve tried the following:

  – restarting Photoshop
  – resetting the Marquee tool
  – View -> Show -> Selection Edges is clicked on
  – searched various forums

  Everything else is working fine so maybe I clicked a hotkey to change a setting? Any help would be much appreciated!

  ************ SOLVED ************

  – renamed my photoshop preferences (below file), renamed it in case I needed it back

  – /Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings/Adobe Photoshop CS6 Prefs.psp

  – closed and relaunched Photoshop and the issue was gone.
