  • Marking text uncopyable for a pdf-reader

    Hi,

First of all: Sorry if this question is already asked before. I searched the forum and Google, but as I don’t know the name of this feature I don’t really know what to Google…

I would like to save (export) an InDesign-file in a way the text can’t be copied be someone reading it with a pdf-reader. Like making the text ‘flat’ or something. Is this possible?

People at my college just keep on stealing my essays (as it get’s published). I went from Word tot InDesign and hope this great program has the right feature I’m looking for.

Anyone knows how to do this? Thanking you in advance!

    Bruce

    Edit > Edit Transparency Flattener

    Than make new preset
    move slider of raster/vector na 100 – 1200ppi / 300ppi //not so important now
and finally check Convert all texts to outlines a all strokes to vectors

This requires that you have some item on the page that uses transparency though. So setup a small box somewhere with a stroke or fill of 0.1% black AND 0.1% Opacity (in the Effects palette).

In addition, you can set security features in the pdf output dialog box. Check the allow printing, but don’t allow editing.
