  • markers in master tape dont appear on viewer when hit match frame

    Hi all,
We are doing a tourist doc about a large area of Crete with several locations, villages etc. I had marked all these locations in the original tapes to make it easy identify what everything is so when someone goes through the timeline and wants to see what this village is he can hit match frame command and then move to the nearest marker on the footage to read what the place is called. He can then add additional footage from the village or area around etc.
Now i dont know what happenned but when i hit match frame the markers dont appear in the viewer with the original tape. However the markers are there if i open the file from the browser…

Can someone help as to why the markers dont appear with match frame command.
    Many thanks

sorry i probably didnt use the best subject description. I should say markers in master clips dont appear in viewer when i press Match frame. These markers are names of places and really help me identify what the places i see on a master clip are. Somehow these have disappeared. However opening the same master clips from the browser markers appear fine in the Viewer.
Any ideas? My collegue had a few crashes with FCP while working on the same project last week. Could it be that? We use FCP v5.1.4
    thanks again

Did you make subclips by any chance? The match frame will call up the subclip master not the original master.

    All the best,

    Tom

No i havent. There no subclips made. The problem doesnt occur on all master clips. I cant figure out any reason and it really slows me down. Other weird things seem to be happening as well like FCP shows other picture on Canvas than what the clips are on my time line!! The little thumbnail pictures on some clips show the right picture but on the canvas is not the same!!
    Very weird…
    any other suggestions!!
