I am looking for some help (again) with markers.

I simply cannot get markers to appear in DVDA unless I take the ‘single movie option’

Been using VMS9 for about two years now, and recently moved to VMS10. Every single file I render does exactly the same thing.

    1. Render a project, setting ‘include project markers’
    2. I go into DVDA, choose ‘new project’, then select ‘menu based’
    3. Drag my mpg file onto the timeline – both the mpg and ac3 appear fine – but – there are no markers showing, and the buttons to insert a marker, load markers from file and save markers to file are greyed out
    4. I start a new project, choose ‘menu based’, select the same mpg and it imports, with all markers, and all buttons available.
    5. I then add a scene selection menu and it picks up all the markers.

Whilst I know I can get around this issue it is driving me mad, as it should work. I believe I have looked through all settings/preferences etc, and the .sfl is in the same directory but I cannot find anything that would make this difference…

Would anybody have any suggestions (or have come across this behavior)

    Thanks,

    Stewart Bourke

After you drag your MPG file into the menu, double-click on it and that should load it onto the DVDA timeline. If the markers aren’t seen, the buttons should now be available to import them.

That was one of those moments when you kick yourself…

I have only ever dragged the media directly to the timeline, and it never showed me the markers. I thought I had tried everything, but clearly not – never even thought of trying the dragging onto the treeview.. Thanks for the info…

You’re welcome. Glad that fixed it.
