Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy Marker Error

    Hey cows,

So a couple of days ago, I posted about an error where I was not able to add/delete/edit any note markers from just one clip in my project (all the other clips worked fine). Since then, I opened one of my backup project files and went back to that same clip and I had to manually re-mark everything and then import back into my currect project file.

Today, a new clip is not allowing me to NAME any note markers. I can still add and delete markers but I cannot type in any names or comments for that marker. I tried in both in the viewer and in the browser and neither of them allow me to type anything into it.

Anyone have any ideas? Is this possibly a memory issue?

    Thanks,
    Chris Guevarra

What format are these clips you have problems with? Is it all clips or just some? And the source of the clips? i.e., video you shot or?

Thanks for the reply Jerry. Sorry about the late response. Our clips are DVCPro – NTSC, from SD Mini-DV tapes. We’ve only had this problem with a few.

We think we may be narrowing down the problem though. We noticed that the last clip had a single blue line around the border of the viewer that appeared after the moment FCP stopped allowing us to mark. The editor said that she was typing quickly and might have accidentally hit a hot key that may have locked the clips from further markers.

Does anyone know if there are any hotkeys or marker/clip settings that prevent the editor from marking a clip? Maybe something sort of like the “CAPS LOCK” key function?

    Thanks,
