    Hi all,

Is it possible to pull a “signal” from a non-active camera, and display it on another layer using expressions (or another method)?

In a composition I’m building, I’d like to be able to include multiple non-active cameras, and then map what each camera sees to another layer. You could think of it as wanting to be able to map the view from each camera to a “screen” within the same comp.

I know I could do this with multiple separate but identical 3D comps, each with it’s own camera, and then nest those comps within a parent. But it would be much more elegant to keep this all in one composition, and not have multiple duplicated instances of the 3D scene.

    Thanks in advance,
    Tom Lietz

The best I can think of would be to have your 3D scene in one comp, drop an instace of that comp in each camera comp (turning on the 3D swtich and the collapse transformations switch so that the 3D is presevered). Then put all the camera comps in a main comp, as you mentioned. Then, at least, you could maintain you scene in a single comp.

That’s a pretty decent compromise. Thanks, Dan!
