Trying to explain this is a bit of a nightmare but wanted to know if it’s possible to do something like the below image in After Effects
There is two maps, a large one in the back and a smaller zoomed out insert on top where the red square on the map insert shows the area on the larger back map. so when I move the larger map behind it and scale it in, the red square on the insert map will show the area in question?
Is this an inbuilt setting?

You can parent one map to another. Having done this myself, I’m going to recommend that you parent the large map to the small map and animate the small map for the scaling. If you do it the other way round you end up dealing with almost sub-pixel measurements and it’s really difficult to make fine adjustments.
