The snapping behavior in FCP 6 has had me absolutely flustered. I thought that “auto-changing to snap” was a new feature and I just had not found a way to turn it off. After cruising through the boards this morning, I found that one of Ken Stone’s readers has stuck gold and I thought that this is important enough to cross post.

It is the Snap Button that is corrupt, not your prefs or something Apple meant to do.

To get snapping to turn on and off like it always has, just tear off the button and replace it with a new one from Tools > Button List.

Appears that the Option + click and Zoom bugs for snapping are still there though.
