I’ve just recently bought the DaVinci system and have a problem with the tracker.
Coming from Apple Color and AfterEffects i am missing the possibility to manualy track the power window. (or simply not find it)

The manual is a bit short about the tracking part and i haven’t found any other manual on any forum.

I try to track a square object, so i make a power window and start the tracking.
That works fine in the beginning but at some point i need to reshape and replace the power window, and i don’t know how to do this.

Can someone explain, step by step, how to manual track an object that gets out of frame?

A bit of guidance would be very helpfull.

This works for me but there might be other better ways to do it.

    1. Position window over object to be tracked
    2. Go to viewer, click on Show Object Tracking Controls.
    3. Under Oject Tracking click on the FWD button. (Object Tracking)

When the shape is out of the track,

    4. Scrub to the point where it goes out of track.
    5. Select the Key Frame radio button. (Adjust)
    6. Click Between. (Interpolate)
    7. Resume tracking by clicking on the FWD button. (Object Tracking).

If the shape starts losing the track repeat from step 4.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Emilio

    Thanks for your help.

Do you perhaps know if it is it also possible to resize the power window “frame by frame” during the track?

For example only move one corner of the power window to the left?

DaVinci does track the zoom when you track it automatically, so i assume that it is also able to do that when you change the track manualy
