    Hi there

I just recently got myself a used DVX100. I found two problems with it. The first one was the 2nd speed for handle zoom, which turned out to be a setting. The second and more important problem is manual focus. If i put the switch into the manual setting, the focus wheel doesn’t work. The focus stays on what the last automatic setting was.

I’m wondering if its another setting somewhere or is the wheel broken.

    Thanks in advance!

There is no way you can actually stop the manual focus from working, when you switch the switch to manual. So if it doesn’t work chances are very good the optical sensor that sees the manual focus ring turning is broken. This is not a very expensive repair, and very easy to do. You would need to have the “manual focus unit” replaced.
