    Hey,

I have a MacBook Pro (2018) but it only has 512GB SSD.

    I have 2 external drives:

    -2TB Samsung T5 SSD
-4TB USB 3 Seagate Hard Drive (5,200 rpm)

What is the best way for me to store my media?

Should I store everything on the external SSD? Or should I put the actual media, proxies and project on the SSD for fast access and the project file on the HDD ?

I am thinking I put the media files on the external SSD and everything else on the external HDD and tell FCPX to leave all files in place… so confused. Is this best?

I am not too sure what needs fast access and what does not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You’re going to get better results putting everything on the SSD drive. But, for sure put your cache files there.
