Friends of the community, I recently started working at production company and when I’m not editing they’ve asked me for inventory for the massive amounts of footage that they have spread out over 30 hard drives.
My question is, how can you search over 30 hard drives, looking at file names and sometimes spotlight metadata without physically connecting all of them to the Mac Pro. An Alias of the drive would disappear as soon as you eject it. A server is out of their budget and it would take 6 RAIDS just to copy the footage. Is there anything I’m missing? Ideally I could type say “Leonardo DiCaprio” and every .mov or .JPG we have of his footage would easily be at hand. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance!
