Man, the holidays slipped up on us this year

Potato latkes ARE potato pancakes. The significance is that they are cooked in oil, representing the oil which lasted for 8 nights back in old timey Jerusalem – the miracle of Hanukkah. Judaism is all about symbolism.
Back to Christmas for a minute – now I have a multi-denominational household so we have a Christmas tree and a menorah living side by side in harmony.

I find that the elves are generally pretty good. It’s the gremlins you have to watch out for!
