Making text move like an ocean wave
1. Thanks to all of you who helped me on my previous post. I d/l’d the trial of Particlemetrix and bought the “How to cheat in Motion” book.
2. I have a video of waves coming on shore. I know how to add the text I want and how to do the motion path to make it “ride along” with the waves. I stayed up late last night figuring this out.
3. What I would like to do is make the text match the “wavy” motion of the waves as well as appear to be floating on top of them. Is there such a filter/generator/magic thing to help me do this?
You needn’t guide me step-by-step, just point me in the direction of the tools I need in the library and I’ll cobble the rest together.

Check out the Distortion Displace filter, it is awesome. If you are on Motion 4 take a look at this tutorial on creating a Reflection in Motion 4.
If you are on Motion 3 take a look at this creating a Reflection in Motion 3.
This will show you how the Distortion Displace filter works. Best of luck.

It’s the part with the ocean wave.Zak: I d/l’d the Particlemetrix Demo but when I tried to use it, the watermark appeared after just a few seconds. I thought it was free usage for 15 days, then the watermark appeared. Did I, in my usual haste to finish, not read something I should have?

Thanks for sharing. I had the same problem with the Nods plug-in. Once I restarted my computer the water mark went away for a few hours.Stephen Smith
