    Just to add to Dave’s post, for Avid it is better to render the alpha out straight, not premultiplied, as Avid does not handle premultiplied alphas well….So render out RGB+alpha but straight, not premultiplied.

    Also, the latest release of Avid codecs support alphas (including the DNXHD codecs), so you could render out a QT to one of these codecs (if your super is animated)…
