    Hi everyone,

I was wondering if there was a way to make particles land and stick on a “ground.” I am trying to use a deflector object in order to give the particles something to interact with when falling, however, they continue at a constant velocity once they land – i.e., they don’t stick to the ground. Is there a way to do this with the standard particle emitter, or do I have to trudge through the Thinking Particles manual?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

You should be able to get a pretty good result with a Friction object. Set the strength to a high value — like 1000, and then use falloff to determine where the particles will stick. You can make them stick to an object by setting falloff to “source” and dragging a polygon object into the source link.
