So I have a HVX200 and have shot a TV spot for a client – first one using the HD format.

I want to put it out to a SD DVD so the client can show it at a conference on a big screen TV.

How do I get the best possible quality?

    The footage is in a 960 x 720 format at 23.98 fps

I exported the file from FCP as a QT movie, then brought it into a NTSC DV comp that is 29.97 fps

    It looks choppy and pixelated.

    Please help

The DVD spec supports 23.98 video. If you bring your Quicktime movie into Compressor and choose, say, the DVD: Best Quality 90 Minutes 16:9 preset, that should give you good results. Or, really, you can use any preset you want, just make sure that “Rate” is set to 23.98 and “Aspect Ratio” is 16:9.

so I should bring my HD footage or SD footage into Compressor?

I would bring in the HD footage. You already have a rendered version, why make more work for yourself? Let Compressor handle the downconversion.
