Yeah, that’s pretty simple. In the resize options, just crop some from the top and bottom and then choose the “Letterbox (Pad)” option for the “Maintain Aspect Ratio by” selection.

Thanks for your reply. Should I maintain the 4:3 in the size options in the upper LH corner? I am trying what you said and having zero luck. Sorry, it is probably something obvious I am missing. It is definitely cropping, but what I need are those actual black bars. My project is to update our website, and currently all videos are 16 x 9 with bars, but I need to be able to add bars to the occasional 4:3 footage I might get.

    thanks again,

    Molly

I just tried this before posting and it worked fine for me. Is there any way you can post a small sample of your source? Just two or three frames would be sufficient.

Yes, but forgive me, new to the cow, is there some way for me to post through the Cow?

    thanks,

No, you need to do that through your website or such.

Copy that, no website of my own, can I email it to you?

    thanks,

I think it is definitely something I am doing wrong with the actual cropping. Nothing happens when I type numbers in the top or bottom but it crops when I type in the left or right. Only then it types top to bottom.

    thank you,
    Molly
