For a commercial I have “game footage” that is really bad quality (dv composite). What is the best way to make it look great ? I have the presets from Videocpilot but that doesn’t seem to help.

    thanks

Another issue could be misrepresentation. I’d like to say you could throw on a nice S-Curve and create some light blooming effects, but is that the way the game really looks? If this is a commercial for the game then limited color correction is probably okay, but anything far beyond that could effectively be perceived as lying to your audience.

This depends a lot on the use of the footage.

I also agree with Dave, get better footage.

You could go the opposite way and make it look ‘bad’. Make it b/w or sepia and/or add effects to make it look like archival footage.
