Making Find in Bin work through different projects (slow and tedious but works). Please fix this Apple
One of the things that needs to be updated in new versions of FCP is how a timeline from one project loses connection to its footage when copied from another project.
The workflow on a film being edited at my firm is like this (xsan)
One assistant editor batches in the dv tapes. He then copies all clips and timelines with roughcuts into the project of the main editor. He then has to choose the timeline and make Create Masterclips in the editors project. Delete the duplicate old files, and then finally Find in Bin works on the editors mac.
Would be great if this functionality is built into fcp 6.0. Our Avid editors are making a big fuzz about how much better this works in Avid.
Another thing I just experienced is that a project suddenly lost Find in Bin functionality. We had to dig out an old version from autosave vault to make it work. Anyone else seen this ??
