  • Making face talk acording to voice(wav file) ?

Posted by Eran Solomon on April 29, 2006 at 12:15 pm

    Hallo everyone
Im trying to make a face talk ( face = upper skull and Jaw) acording to a soundtrack (man talking in wav file).

I was wondering if theres a way to make the upper skull move up and down acording to the talking man on the wav file without doing it manually (sure takes a lot of time :\

Thanks in advance to anyone who helps !

    p.s
I have no expirence with expressions , but im real good with explanations 😉

This is a frequent topic on the COW, so a search will probably yield the answer you want. Basically, you want to use “Convert audio to Keyframes” on your audio layer, creating a new layer of keyframe values based on the audio amplitudes. Then use a position expression on your jaw layer that will move it up and down according to the keyframes of this new audio keyframes layer. I have successfully done it a few times by reading other more experienced users explanations of the technique, so you may want to read further.

    Hey
The thing is , I got Soundkeys by trapcode, but even thu I got the face to its place after the appliance of the keyframes , Its going up way too high , and sometimes on the wrong direction..

anyone know how can I fix these problems?

You should be able to limit the movement of the expression that is driven by keyframes with a slider (add “*1” to the expression, highlight the “1” link it to a slider, then adjust the slider, then the slider at .5 would cut the movement in half).

    Or

I bet trapcode soundkeys has a way to Clamp the output to the ranges you want, go to Trapcode and search.
