Hello, I am currently working on a project that involves making footage seem rather old(1970’s). I filmed everything on a DV cam, and so the quality is too good. I got the visual look modified, but I haven’t been able to get my audio tracks to have that signature 1970’s sorta washed out and a bit scratchy effect. Is this possible from within premiere? If so, any suggestions on how I can accomplish such an effect.

It just so happens that I had to do this the other day.

Apply a High Pass filter and reduce it to about 800 or so, then apply the Low Pass filter and run it up to over 12000. That should get you started.

Only you can determine exactly what sounds right.

Look 2 posts above. That technic should get you just what you want.

It’ll even take care of the low and high pass frequencies.
