  • Making a wall of text with a bend in it

I need a wall of continuous text that looks like it bends and heads down the other side of the wall. Like if you were looking at a wall and the text crawled along one wall then continued on to the other wall bending in the corner. Is there a way to do this?

    Hi,
It’s possible if you have Invigorator.
    Here is a simillar thread:

Otherwise you would have to fake it using 3D layers.

    Salut.

    Hi Steve,

I would rather use Invigorator if I was you but here is the 3D fake:

    Looks like this:

Notice the position Kfs for the text.

    I hope this may help.
    Salut.

that’s the look. thanks for the help! The reason i don’t want to use invig is that there is going to be tons of text and there will be nothing in the background, just text over white, sorta like what FOX does with there logo, just 3d text bending around. There will be walls of text floating around.I’m sure there’s a way to do this easier, but i haven’t figured it out….thanks again for the help!

Your example works great but for one thing. If I get the 3d camera close to it, the edges fuzz out! Total bummer because I thought I had it whipped, any ideas on getting the text to rasterize correctly or is that beyond the limits of basic text? I tried using the new text in AFX but you can’t really make it clip outside it’s boundries like just having basic text on a solid…or is there a way to do that? Thanks for the help…we’re so close!

    Hi,

Here is how you can do it with the text tool:

Only explanation would be how do you get the timing right on making them look seemless. I can do it but it takes a lot of trial and error….is there a easy solution for it?

after really close examanation of your file i see that one of the layers has a keyframe with a little
x under it and the pixel speed is different. Can you explain what you did there? I’m curious
what these settings are…thanks for your help.
