  • Making a tower of bricks.

Posted by Simon Roughan on September 21, 2015 at 11:09 am

    Hi everyone,
I would like to build a tower of bricks by having the fall into the picture and forming a tower.
I am trying to do this by using a cloner in object mode with a plain effector.
My problems are getting them to fall straight, and building exactly so that no clones overlap, and they don’t go outside the boundary of the object.
Can someone give me a quick tip please?
    Thanks heaps
    Simon

You’ll need dynamics to prevent intersection but that will also make it very difficult for the clones to wind up in exactly the right position. What I would do is use negative gravity to make the tower “fall” up, and then reverse the footage to make it look like the bricks are falling down into position.

Once again, a thousand thanks Adam. Great idea to reverse the footage!
