making a page turn follow hand movement
Hi. Ok so I have a project where the talent comes out from behind a sheet of paper on a tablet.

As you can see her hand is held out “holding the page” and once she comes out and is holding the curled page, her hand moves a little.
I’d like to add some realism to this and make the page curl/follow her slight hand movement.
Even just a little variation to the curling back and forth would be nice.The page turn was built using CC Page turn for the main curl and the edge curl.
Is there any way to maybe motion track her hand and then apply that data to either the fold position of the page turn or maybe to the time remapping keyframes of the layer the page turn is applied to?
The hand movement isn’t very broad, it just goes up and down a little.
Any ideas? I’m afraid it’s gonna be an expression job. And well… I’m not well versed with expressions.

if the move is pretty quick, it may be easier to add keyframes to the fold position every couple of frames to match the hand position. but if you wanted you could track a position on the hand (or maybe the wrist, at the cuff) using ae’s motion tracker (window>tracker controls), then apply that to a null layer. when you get the null to look like it follows the movement of the hand pretty well, it’s time to attach the fold position to the null.
make the position parameter for the null layer visible in the timeline, then select the fold position parameter in the timeline, the choose animation>add expression. use the little expression pickwhip for the fold position expression and drag it to the position parameter of the null object.
now the fold position should follow the null object that is tracking the hand movement. you can make some tweaks to the movement by modifying the null object position.
