Making a new layer our of motion-tracked field
Hey there,
I just started with AE. tried the search function but couldn’t find anything… I have a moving object in my shot, which is motion tracked. I’m trying to make text layers dissapear behind the moving object. Is there some kind of layer which obscures the text but leaves the motion tracked object transparent ? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You’ll need at least three layers:
top) duplicate of footage layer with foreground subject masked/isolated
middle) text
bottom) duplicate of footage layer for backgroundYou can use several techniques for isolating the foreground object. Rotoscoping by animating masks is one, using Roto Brush is another.
