  • Making a DV clip look like 80’s film….

Posted by Brent Austin on July 1, 2008 at 3:49 pm

I have a DV clip that is relatively pristine. I’m new to FCP and would like some advice on how to make it look more like “80’s” film. For example I think a little bit of color washout & a little bit of film grain might do the trick.
    Any ideas?

I have used the Nattress “Big Box of Tricks” and “Film Effects” software plug-ins to get film type effects into DV I edit with FCP. I think they cost about USD 150.00 for both packages as a bundle/digital download. There are probably others out there, but, I think they are more expensive (Boris Effects, etc.) Hope this helps!
