  • Making a color object shine with ‘leave color’ effect

Ok to best describe what I am hoping to do :

There will be one object in the scene that will remain in color. For now the rest will be dropped to B+W (in the end I’d like to leave it heavily desaturated, but not B+W). I want to apply shine to only the color object. My questions are :

    – I already have the one colored object step done, can I export a video which uses the color that is left as an alpha channel? That way I would have an animated alpha matte of the objects motion.

    – If not, how can I apply Shine only to the object that is in color? I would like to apply other effects to it as well, and making an animated mask by hand won’t work. So how can I make this work?

    Thanks

No guarantees but do take a look at my COW Tutorial on a two-color effect. I recall a procedure was used to isolate the left behind color and then processed to create an alpha channel.
