    Hi,

for an upcoming event I have to make a movie that shows a simple animation that says “Welcome (name)”. It will be shown on a large screen when people enter the venue. Every 5 seconds the name of the person has to change so everyone is mentioned on the “welcome” screen.
I have the 2000 (2k!) names of the attending people on an excell sheet.
Does anyone have a great tip for me to not having to make this 2000 times?

    Thank you

If you export the spreadsheet as a CSV text file, you an create a script that would read the file and set a keyframe updating a text layer every five seconds. It shouldn’t be a difficult script to write, and there should be plenty of examples out there to get you started. This one on my site might help as a starting point:

    https://www.motionscript.com/ae-scripting/create-text-layers-from-file.html

The specifics will depend on your comp details and the format of your file.
