make WMV save to harddrive instead of streaming
This is kind of the opposite of Eyal Gordin’s thread a few posts down. Usually, the normal MIME settings for most people’s Internet Explorer has it that when the user clicks a WMV link, the file is streamed and played automatically right on the webpage, or sometimes launched and buffered into Windows Media Player. I would like the user to be forced to save the file instead. (just like when you click on an EXE file, and Windows asks you to save)
Is there some HTML or Javascript method to do this?

Most folks just suggest to the viewer “Right click and choose Save Target as…” to download the video. You could Zip the video files to force a download.

Yeah, I was afraid of that. That’s the only way I know too. But I just thought maybe there was a code way to do it, because not all viewers will do what you suggest them to do.
