    Hi,

I need to use 12 text objects with 12 peoples names’ and so, as bottom third throughout my project. I’ve created the objects, and they’re fine except I need to lower the lines in each a bit. What I did was to place all 12 lined up on the timeline, modify one, then copy + paste attributes to all; they all look fine on the timeline. Then I dragged all back to my folder, and they didn’t keep the modifications. Some even go back to the one initial object I used to create all others. Again, they look fine on the timeline, so how would I save all to place in a folder, so I can use them throughout my project?

TIA (sorry if this has been dealt with, I didn’t really know what to search for).

My FCP is rendering right now, so I can’t check it out for sure, but it seems like there’s something along the lines of “Make Independent Clip” in the CTL-Click menu on a clip. Another option (though you might not want to go backwards like this) is to start with one of your clips in the proper position, drag that clip to your folder, use the “duplicate” command in the browser 11 times, and change the text in each of those. Then you should have 12 independent clips all in the right position.

Just a couple thoughts off the top of my head…

    Thanks!

“Make independant” wouldn’t do. Couldn’t dinf another way, so I ended up just pasting “old” objects, mispositionned, and used copy/paste attributes on the timeline.

Still interested to learn about some proper way to do this.

    Oh, and FCP 5 BTW.
