The way I make a mask in photoshop cs2 when I rotoscope is by using the polygonal lasso tool. However, i think it would be wiser to make a mask of bezier curves so i can still adjust some points even after i close the path. I tried using the pen tool but it creates a shape instead of a mask. what should I do?

the reason why I’m creating a mask is to make my subject appear “colored” while his background is in black & white. Can someone please help me out? thanks.

Go to the Options bar at the top of the screen. There’s different buttons there for creating a shape or a path with the pen tool.
