  • Make FCP stop splitting my clips

    Pretty simple thing but I can’t figure it out.

    I’m capturing HDV footage and it’s doing the ‘start stop detect’ and creating a million smaller clips. How do I make it just capture it as one so I can break it up later?

    You mean so it stops detecting timecode breaks during “Capture Now?”

    There is a check box that will switch this off in Clip Settings in the Log and Capture window. That said it only works with some cameras and not with others.

    If the material isn’t being split at shot changes, but randomly in the middle of clips you have a more serious problem, most likely a hardware problem.
