    Hello,

I was editing a project using Final Cut 7 off of a LaCie external 1 tb drive. I had to switch drives recently and some clips weren’t connected correctly, so I was going to make them offline and then re-connect them. I went to do this, but accidentally chose to erase them from the disk instead of move them to the trash. Is there anyway to recover these? Or am I completely screwed?

    Any suggestions are appreciated.

    you can’t recover from that.
you need a copy or backup to retrieve the files from
do you still have the first drive?

I do, but I dropped it, so I need to get the data recovered. That’s my only option huh?

well you’ve deleted the files from the drive.
    hard to get back.

    i guess you could try.
make sure you don’t do ANYTHING more on that drive.
and give it to the data rescue team along with the other one.

Alright, thank you. I’ll give that a try. I really messed up this time. I didn’t realize Final Cut could actually delete the actual files. I figured there would be some kind of safeguard against it. Besides myself. Thanks again.
