I can use the video event pan/crop to position an image at a certain spot on the video background… But I want it to fly across the screen… I have an animated gif of a flame bird with it’s wings flapping and all I can figure out how to do is position the flying bird at a specific spot on the video… Some other post on this site said to use “track motion” but I cannot get that to work either!!! All that is doing for me is the same thing video event pan/crop does, moving it’s official stationary positioning… I cannot get the bird to fly across the screen!!! Any help would be apreciated…

    You need to use keyframes.
Odds are that two will be enough, one at the beginning and one at the end of desired location.
Feel free to start and end the bird off screen so that it flies on and off.
