major problem with vegas 9
alright so i have been editing the native footage from my t2i without problems for weeks now using vegas 9. tonight i go to start a 1080 24p timeline, i import some t2i footage and put it on the timeline, and when i play it i cant see the video but i can hear the audio. i tried all kinds of project settings (720 24p, 720 30p, 1080 30p, 1080 60i, SD, etc) with the same results. i even started a SD projects and put an SD clip in it to see if that would work and it played fine. to make sure this was not a computer issue i opened premiere pro and put a clip from the t2i on a timeline and it played fine. so basically vegas wont play HD for me anymore. why is vegas doing this all of a sudden and what can i do to fix it? hopefully i just accidentally pressed something. any help with this would be awesome as i will be stressing out over this until its fixed.

I don’t fully understand the wonderful world of codecs but is there any chance you installed something recently that thinks it can play your t2i files but in fact can’t?
I have had a couple instances where a program thought it could play mp4s but couldn’t. All of a sudden, Media Player would open and play the audio but the screen was black and the ffdshow video codec icon was missing in the accessory tray. Drove me nuts until on a hunch I uninstalled the offending program (a Pinnacle program, of course) and voila…. mp4s played again.
I also had an incident where uninstalling a program also uninstalled the Haali media splitter and produced the same symptoms.

Have you recently updated Itunes + QT or just QT by itself? The Vegas Pro 9.0d update will fix this issue with QT 7.6.6. Or you can downgrade QT to version 7.6.4. Many Vegas users have had this problem.

ok i reinstalled quicktime 7.4 and it worked
