  • MAJOR PROBLEM on system with Decklinl HD Pro single link

I am having a problem with two things:

WHILE WORKING IN 10BIT uncompressed SD

#1) As soon as I add any kind of filter to a clip, I get a Jerky random play back on any sequences whether it 5 or 20 minutes long.
#2) About every other time now, when I start my machine the NTSC MONITOR has nothing but square kinda Snow Noise (could my Card be going bad ? )
and will not display until I reboot.

On top of it all I have been having the (#1) problem for about 8 months on and off.
I have removed everything and run the Apple hardware test (No Problem).
I have constantly cleared FCP preferences.

    Dual 2Ghz G5
    2.5Gig DDR
    OS 10.4.4
    FCP 5.04
    Decklink HD Pro (drivers 5.4.2)
Atto UL4D (most current drivers and flash)
    2 -Huge u320R

    Hi Dane,

#1) Will this happen when you work in 8 bit or DV? Can you give that a try?

Can you also send me a copy of your system profile in XML format by saving it in Apple System Profiler? The address to send to: support[at]blackmagic-design.com

#2) The next time this happens, check what resolution your DeckLink desktop is set to? Could it somehow have reverted back to a HD resolution which will result in “snow” on an SD monitor? If so, it sounds like some sort of preferences issue. Are you running on an admin user account? Try trashing the “com.apple.systempreferences.plist” file in “~/Library/Preferences”

    regards
