July 31, 2005 at 11:43 pmSorry for not offering a better answer than simply, “Don’t use TOD”. That wasn’t very helpful.
What it sounds like you are doing is using Capture Now for capturing your entire tape roll, and this can often lead to problems no matter the TC you are using.
What I recommend is that you capture the clip using Log and Capture (which allows you to avoid when TC goes off the tape, a source of trouble) and then using DV Start Stop detection to lay in markers for each TC Break. Select the Markers then Modify>Make Sub Clips.
Then, all you need to do is synch up each set of subclips in the Multi-clip dialog.
Would that work for you?

August 7, 2005 at 2:07 amTry getting your cameraman to not button off between shots. I edit quite a few sporting events, all shot with TOD code and
if you can get it throught to the cameramen not to button off, it makes the job quite easy. In these shows i deal with anywhere upto 10 cameras at a time.
