I use compressor a lot for format conversions. We have a lot of metadata attached to the files (inserted in Spotlight comments. Is there a way using Compressor to maintain the metadata from the original file?

In the Inspector window’s Actions tab you can set Compressor to run a simple Applescript at the end of each encode job

Something along the lines of set the comments of fileA to the comments of fileB should do it.

    Cheers

Andy, I’ve been overwhelmed with other work and have just got back to this issue. I have done a very rudimentary study of Applescripting and created a script with “set the comments of fileA to the comments of fileB” in the script editor. Created both a script save and save as application. Tried both and nothing. new spotlight comments are not applied.
