  • Maintaining full-speed video during time remapping animation

Posted by Nate Hanson on January 10, 2008 at 4:23 pm

I’m working on an animation where video clips are rotating around an object. I’m trying to fly in on the scene with a camera and I want to use time remapping to speed up and slow down the animation as the video clips fly past the camera (Matrix/300 effect).

How do I keep the video clips playing at normal speed while the animation (clips flying around the object) is speeding up and slowing down?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you only want to increase the speed of the clips flying around the object, and not the video in the clips, then you shouldn’t use time remapping, instead change your position/rotation keyframes to speed up the animation.

Thank you – I had time remapping in my mind from some tutorials I watched and I got stuck thinking that was the only way to achieve that effect. I should have figured that one out on my own!
