Maintaining 23.976 (24P) on export
I need to send out files to a DVD author. I have 150 very short (demonstration) clips for a medical textbook.
The video was shot in 24p (after capturing, Vegas recognizes this in properties window as 23.976 IVTC)
I kept the project settings consistent with above frame rate- did basic editing, titles, added voice-over, etc.
Now- I’m ready to export the clips and I’ve been trying Windows .avi- and selecting 23.976 framerate. Assuming that rate would maintain 24p.
When my DVD author opens the files on his system, they are recognized as 29.97 NOT 23.976 as I would expect them to be.
When I import them back into Vegas they appear as 23.976. But when I open them in an older version of Adobe Encore (ver. 1.5) they appear as 29.97. Is there a logical reason for this?
My goal, obviously, is to keep the footage consistent from start to finish. I’m concerned that this change could introduce flickers or unnatural movement.

What DVD authoring app does the other person use?
Does it support 24p?
Is there a reason you’re not using DVD Architect (which can do 24p)? -
It may be his authoring system can’t properly see the flags, what app is he using?

Yes, I am exporting with pulldown and the DVD author is using the following programs:
AVICodec and MediaInfo. Both are freeware programs (PC only) and in both you can input a video file and it will tell you all the specs of the file – bit rate, frame rate, resolution, format, codecs, if your computer has those codecs, etc.

Neither of those programs are for DVD authoring though so the question remains unanswered.
What program is being used to create the DVD from the file you provide? -
From what I know, he’s using DVD Studio Pro. They are showing up as 29.97 there too.

Export it WITHOUT pulldown.
With pulldown by definition adds the necessary field/frame conversion to change the frame rate from 24 to 30.
