Is the MP4 rendering format made to handle HD video? I often associate mp4 with podcasts. I went in and changed the frame size to 1920 by 1080 and made the bitrate 25,000,000 and the output looks awesome! Plus the file sizes are a fraction of what .mov produces. Does anyone else use this for HD files? I like M2T, but my poor Mac buddies can’t use those files.

Yea, only every AVCHD camcorder in the world. 😉

MPEG-4 is used for lots and lots of things from podcasts to HD and yes it does look great with small file sizes. BTW, MOV supports MPEG-4 (h.264) as well.
