Does anyone know how to create a Magnifying Lens effect in Motion 4? I want the magnifying glass to move and have the image underneath it magnify.

    Thanks in advance!

Duplicate the image you want magnified, scale it up, make a circled mask, then animate as needed.

Yeah you could also attach a cute stock graphic of a magnifying lens to that animated layer, if that fits your piece’s style of course…

You also have access to a cool magnifying glass that comes with Motion. Go to Library, Content, Images, Traditions and then get Magnifying Glass 01.

It is the same magnifying glass I used in my Kinetic Typography tutorial.

    Best of luck.

I might also apply the sphere filter to the scaled up image. It distorts the image around the edges making it look more like a magnifying glass.
