  • Magnifying glass effect just on one layer

Hi guys, just watched the tutorial on making a magnifying glass but it doesn’t quite fit the bill. I have lines of text (credits) scrolling on and I need it to grow/magnify when it rolls across the centre.

I don’t want the background to magnify so I don’t think I can use an adjustment layer like the tut (unless there’s a way to bypass layers with one) and the ‘magnify’ effect doesn’t just increase scale it doubles the text and magnifies it above the original.

This sounds so simple but I can’t figure it out!

Thanks in advance for any help

I know I need to use that, it’s how to implement it. I’ll have an experiment but because the text layer will be moving and I need the bulge area to stay static I don’t think I can apply the ffect to text layer, and I need the background to stay un-magnified so I don’t think I can use an Adjustment layer to hold it?
thanks for the reply anyway dude

    bulge as precomped text.
    layer the precomp below video.
that will keep it over top of video but not affect video.

Told you it was simple! Just didn’t think to pre-comp the text, thanks for your help
