    Hi There!

I have been asked to create an animation where by oil molecules are magnetised to a piston and cover it in a kind of “oily liquid” appearance (which acts as a coolant)

My initial thoughts where to use metaballs for this… but would he be possible to have them magnetised to the cylinder object? I dont know how else I could have them morph to the cylinder apart from perhaps cloth.

Can metaballs react with a surface? I was thinking perhaps using some kind of collider and gravity to pull them closer to the cylinder object?

    Any help greatley appreciated!

    Thanks

    Scott

As an update, I managed to put an emitter into the metaballs object, and have it emmitting the molecules, then using an attractor to such in and give the appearance of “magnetised objects” now I just have to work out how I can get it stick to the attractor like goo….
